<P><STRONG>„Helvetica” to długometrażowy dokumentalny film poświęcony
typografii, projektowaniu graficznemu, szeroko rozumianej kulturze
wizualnej.</STRONG> Światowa premiera filmu odbyła się w marcu zeszłego roku.
Punktem wyjścia dla filmu jest 50. rocznica powstania kroju pisma Helvetica oraz
jego wpływ na nasze codzienne życie. Na film składa się szereg wywiadów ze
światowej sławy projektantami, wśród których znaleźli się m.in. Michael Bierut,
Neville Brody, David Carson, Matthew Carter, Jonathan Hoefler, Otmar Hoefer,
Alfred Hoffmann, Lars Müller, projektanci studia Norm, Mike Parker, Rick Poynor,
Stefan Sagmeister, Leslie Savan, Paula Scher, Erik Spiekermann, Massimo
Vignelli, Hermann Zapf.<BR>Helvitica zaprojektowana została w 1957 roku przez
Maksa Miedingera na zlecenie i przy współpracy Eduarda Hoffmanna z Hass Type
Foundry w Münchenstein w Szwajcarii. Na początku krój nazwano Neue Haas Grotesk,
lecz ze względów marketingowych nazwę zmieniono później na Helvetica. Pismo to
stało się jednym z najbardziej popularnych krojów na świecie, m.in. za sprawą
użycia go jako fontu systemowego w komputerach Apple Macintosh. </P>
